Ship history
An Orion-class destroyer is shown being destroyed by the SD Lucifer in the FreeSpace 2 intro cutscene. As Volitionwas fairly clear this ship was not the Galatea. An ongoing campaign at that time asked if it could be labelled Legion, after 'their' destroyer. Volition's answer was noncommital but permissive, so the ship is generally referred to as the Legion.
