Fortuna (SR)

Fortuna is one of the two major satellites of the gas giant Morpheus, with the other being Midas, and ever since its discovery by GTA expeditions it was established as one of the best suitable places for colonization. The orbital period of Fortuna around Morpheus is more optimal than that of Midas, and the exposition to intense radiation coming from the Adhara A star is in part contained, a characteristic that has allowed vast greenhouses optimized for agriculture to be built on the satellite, and reach the pinnacle of such production. The efficient Fortuna greenhouses are responsible for a constant two-digit agricultural production surplus each year for the Adhara Coalition.

As most planets and planetoids in the Serendipity campaign, Fortuna is named after a planet featured in the Colony Wars series, which in turn was named after the Roman goddess of luck and fortune. The term fortuna has been preserved in present day Italian with the same meaning, as seen in La Ruota della Fortuna.
