Chanticleer MISSION 7
Location: Ammunition Plant L5, near Mercury

Background

The 52nd is ordered to attack a convoy and capture its command ship in deep solar orbit.

Walkthrough

You're allowed to take a fighter for this, but this mission was designed to showcase the Artemis D.H. and the GTB Rhea.

You'll start 5000 meters from the convoy. The convoy is made up of a Upanishad command ship (the Water Lily), three Demeter bulk freighters, a Sanctus-class cruiser, with a dozen escort fighters. The Water Lily is your target. On the opposite side of the convoy are two wings of GTF Kulas and two GTC Cretheus-class gunboats making an attack run.

Listen to Hannah's orders and stay put until your allies make their attack. After your allies engage the escort fighters, put max power to engines and make your attack run on the Water Lily's engines. Once you've disabled the Water Lily, press your attack until all of the convoy has departed or been destroyed. This is a good time to rearm and repair.

A marine transport, the Caliban, will warp in and capture the Water Lily. They repair the Water Lily's engines and proceed to a safe jump distance.

Next, the Federation will sortie a wing of UEF Uhlan fighters, two UEF Uriel gunships and a UEC Custos gunboat. If you're flying a bomber, stay close to your friendly gunboats' flak and use your missiles. Order Alpha wing to attack the gunboat as well. As the Water Lily approaches the safe jump distance, the Federation will add a wing of Scimitars to the mix. Prioritize the Uriels and the Custos; the other fighters can't do any serious damage to the Water Lily.

After the Water Lily warps out, return to base.
