MISSION 6 - PART 2
Fighter squadron: 222nd Nightwolves
Description: Alpha wing continues its pursuit of the GTC Duke.
Background
With the Shivans no longer pursuing Alpha wing of the 222nd Nightwolves, the focus of the three pilots turn back towards the GTC Duke.
Walkthrough
This is a Red Alert mission, so your missile count and any damage incurred from the previous mission will carry over.
When the mission starts, you will find the Duke approaching the Laramis jump node. However, it is too far ahead for you or your wingmen to catch it and will jump out shortly. You and Taylor express astonishment at how the Duke is able to jump in so close to the node and then jump out only moments later. Corey's explanation is that, even though the Hyperion-class is powered by normal cruiser engines, sufficient duress can enable it to make fighter-like jumps, although it also places the engine subsystem under extreme strain and run the risk of it failing completely, which he believes the Duke's engines would if it kept on eluding the GTVA in this fashion.
Taylor then turns her thoughts to the nearby Orion destroyer wreck. Corey does a quick scan of it and identifies it as the GTD Minnow.
As you and your wingmen enter range of the jump node, the GTD Temeraire announces its arrival in Ross 128 with the GTC Bretonia, GTCv Labouchere and GTL Solace. Jump out.
