Although it seems to represent the core of their fleets, the Aten-class cruiser has proven not to be the threat that its scale implies. The Aten falls short in almost every category, lacking the firepower and armour of GTA cruisers, but not making up for it with any significant speed or technological advantage. With a only six weapon turrets, the Aten just cannot muster the kind of firepower needed to do real damage to targets of size, or even protect itself adequately against a determined wing of pilots. The Aten-class cruiser is considered by the GTA to be a class B threat.
